Jefferson Davis letters to Marcus J. Wright, 1875-1887.

Consists of nine letters, dating from 18 January 1875 to 29 January 1887, by Jefferson Davis to Marcus J. Wright; two are autograph letters signed and seven are typed copies. The letters discuss various aspects of the Civil War, including military records, casualties, troop movements, and decisions made. In the letter of 29 January 1887, Davis thanks Wright for sending him a copy of the Memoirs of Robert E. Lee and takes issue with several assertions made in the book.
